Working Principle

Water cooled chillers use shell and tube evaporators to exchange heat between water and refrigerant, and the refrigerant system absorbs the heat load of the water to produce cold water. The heat is brought to the shell and tube condenser through the refrigeration compressor and exchanged between the refrigerant and water, so that the water absorbs the heat and takes the heat out of the external cooling tower through the water pipe.
Air cooled chiller sucks the low-temperature and low-pressure refrigerant gas after evaporative refrigeration by the compressor, and compresses it into high-temperature and high-pressure gas to the condenser, then the gas is cooled into normal temperature and high pressure liquid by the condenser. When the liquid flows into the thermal expansion valve, it is throttled down the low-temperature and low-pressure wet steam and flows into the shell and tube evaporator to absorb the heat of the chilled water and reduce the water temperature. The evaporated refrigerant is sucked back into the compressor to the next refrigeration cycle.
