Three Categories of Nitrogen Generator

Industrial nitrogen generator has been widely used in chemical, electronic, metallurgy, food processing and rubber tire industries. It can be divided into three categories:

1.Cryogenic Air Separation Nitrogen Generator
This is a traditional nitrogen production method, which has a history of recent decades. It takes air as raw material, after compression and purification, then liquefies the air into liquid air through heat exchange. Liquid air is mainly a mixture of liquid oxygen and liquid nitrogen. According to the different boiling points of liquid oxygen and liquid nitrogen (at 1 atmospheric pressure, the boiling point of the liquid oxygen is - 183 and the boiling point of the liquid nitrogen is - 196), nitrogen is separated by liquid air distillation.
The cryogenic air separation nitrogen generator is complex, covers a large area, has a large one-time investment, high construction and operation cost, slow gas production (12 ~ 24 hours)、high installation requirements and long cycle. It is suitable for large-scale industrial nitrogen production.

2.PSA nitrogen generator

It uses air as raw material and carbon molecular sieve as adsorbent. According to the principle of pressure swing adsorption, used the carbon molecular sieve to separate nitrogen and oxygen, it called PSA nitrogen generator.
This method is a new nitrogen production technology developed rapidly in the 1970s. Compared with the traditional nitrogen production method, it has the advantages of simple process, high degree of automation, fast gas production (15 ~ 30 minutes), low energy consumption, wide range of product purity, convenient operation and maintenance and low operation cost.

3.Membrane Separation Nitrogen Generator
Uses air as raw material, base on the different permeation velocities in the membrane, oxygen and nitrogen will be separated under certain pressure. Compared with other nitrogen generators, it has the advantages of simple structure, small volume, no switching valve, less maintenance, fast gas production (3 minutes) and convenient capacity increase. Especially suitable for the small users with nitrogen purity of 98%.
